Products and services
for private businesses and the public sector

Back pain is the leading reported cause of long term absence for manual workers, while stress is the main reported cause of long-term absence for non-manual employees.

Regardless of the main reason for absenteeism, stress and pain of any kind are generally present at the same time and need integrated interventions for prevention, short term symptomatic relief as well as long term sustainability.  This is the most effective approach.

Contact me for a pain management/treatment appointment or when you plan your events (health event days, staff training, stress reduction initiatives, for instance).

The average level of employee absence has increased by 0.2% to 3.7% of working time (8.4 days per employee per year)
Consistently, the CBI surveys have shown that there are higher levels of absence in the public sector than in the private sector.
Back pain accounts for 40% of absenteeism in Scotland, making it a huge problem for working people. People sitting behind a desk for the majority of the day, and tradesmen (plumbers, constructions workers, electricians etc) are the most susceptible to back problems.
Currently nearly 4.2% of the working population is on incapacity benefit, 24% of which are due to diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue, almost two thirds of whom are male.
